We have lived in several small towns and Fromberg is great. For the most part, the people are friendly and welcoming and the school is exceptional. The class sizes are small enough that each student gets the individual attention they can’t get in the big Laurel or Billings schools. My son was failing in Billings and is now on the honor roll, involved in sports and STEM and thriving. Fromberg has no service but Laurel is an easy 23 mile drive and Bridger is only 6 miles south. Real estate prices are reasonable but rentals are difficult to find. A great place to raise kids or retire.
Fromberg is the definition of simple small town Montana. It use to be a coal mining town many years ago, and since has not changed too drastically in size. Though there are only a couple active businesses in the town the community is still strongly rooted in agricultural lifestyles.
Fromberg is a noisy, worthless town. There is never a quiet day. Filthy old pickups and little rust bucket cars blast their music and rev around in any gravel they can find. The school is as inconsiderate as the rest of the town with the lack of respect for neighbors. They waste water even amidst droughts, watering their practice field during the summer when no one even uses the yard. The petty bickering amongst the neighbors is childish and repulsive. You will not be welcomed here. Even the nicest people aren't nice.
