I love the homey feel of Freehold, especially downtown. It's small, but reminds you of the settings in novels. Mom and pop restaurants, gazebos, independent businesses, and old world architecture and vibes. But drive on and you have lots of parks, retail malls, orchards, etc. for the modern necessities.
I like how everyone knows each other and the closeness of freehold but something that I would like to see change is the amount of gang violence.
I truly admire this town. It's a town in which you can find diversity within. You can never feel like an outsider here as we are very outgoing. You can also go into town and easily find some small restaurants and stores that anyone can go to and visit.
I love all of the historical things around Freehold and all of the good places to eat. I would like to see the police get to calls faster though.
Freehold is a town full of great restaurants and of course the Raceway Mall. However, it is not the safest.
Freehold is a generally safe town. It has become very populated and is very expensive to live in this city. Roads in certain parts of freehold need work. Downtown freehold is nice.
I love it here. I was literally BORN and RAISED here. It's very diverse and it's a close-knit community. Going downtown is always fun.
I like the diversity in the community, very family oriented, getting around is easy, the customer service in most stars are great, no long waits for banks, dmv or doctors. Lot of mixed race families and nice neighbo
Freehold has a great community atmosphere, with free events happening in town year-round. Freehold has been a great place to grown up and go to school - there is diversity, and community involvement, and teachers who care about their students. We have great neighbors of all ages on my street, and I feel safe wherever I go. We are within commuting distance to New York City, and we are also near great local shopping malls, movie theatres, and cultural attractions.
Freehold has very easy to access and good public schools. There is plenty of opportunity for kids to be involved in their communities and schools, as well as work and be out there. Many people will share interests with you, because we have a diverse group of people. What we lack in is cultural diversity; we are a majority of white people, and minorities, like Asian or Black people, tend to only hang out with those of the same grouping. Not due to racism or anything, but just a subconscious connection. Overall, Freehold is very nice and full of open and compassionate people, but can stagnate sometimes.
It could be better. There are a lot of racist Republicans here in this area. Not very diverse. But the people here that I am able to get along with are the most amazing and accepting people in the world.
Safe town, rarely any crimes. However, literally nothing to do here besides the mall and diversity is lacking considering it’s a predominantly white community
Freehold has almost everything! It has a horse racetrack, a mall with multiple stores within, cute restaurants, you name it, we most likely have it!
I love living in Freehold, NJ. We are close to everything, including beaches, mountains, and New York City and Philadelphia.
Freehold is an excellent small town feel, with the amenities of a urban environment. There is plenty of wonderful shops and restaurants, most of which are packed on a Saturday night. The best part of living in Freehold is that you are an hour away from the beach, and NYC.
I enjoy the location, it is close to shopping plazas, restaurants, the beach, etc. It is close enough to Philly and the city without the hustle and bustle of traffic. Freehold is a great place to live and grow up, and is a very family friendly environment. The school district is very good and it is a safe place to raise a family.
What I liked about freehold is the school systems. It's a good environment and very quiet . You don't hear to much of anything going on .
