It's a great place if you really love the small town feel. It has a strong sense of community and it almost feels like everyone knows everyone here. There is a lot of drug usage and alcoholism throughout the community that people should be aware of, but overall the people are fairly nice. The high school is actually very good despite its reputation. There is a lot of places to eat here (mostly fast food restaurants) and there are a few things for the locals to participate in as well. Overall, Fox Lake isn't too bad and I would recommend living here.

Parts of fox lake are sophisticated while others parts need to be stayed away from. Unincorporated Fox Lake is typically associated with criminal activity and worn down buildings. They have one central high school, Grant Community High School, that is not nationally ranked.
One thing I've noticed about Fox Lake is that the town is very community-based. What I mean by this is that many people are involved with the schools, businesses, and people within the town and are very willing to help others in need.
