Fort Valley Reviews
Fort Valley is a small town, about 30 minutes from Macon, which would be the main closest city. They have Fort Valley State University which is an HBCU, there is Food Depot but no other major grocery store, you would have to go to another city for a Grocery Store. There is only 1 laundry mat in Fort Valley, which is undesirable. There is a Dollar General, a few beauty supply stores, and a few fast food restaurants - and other dine in restaurants a unique one is Eighteen 36 Restaurant and lounge. There is a gym, a few farms and orchards
Fort Valley is an overall nice place, the town is small so there aren't a lot of fun nightly activities or anything of the sort. However, Fort Valley is a college town and there are events (such as Homecoming ) where the town becomes extremely crowded due to all the alumni and it's almost impossible to get anywhere. The town is home to Blue Bird the bus factory/supplier, but other than that the town is relatively poor. The school system is fair, but not nearly as excellent as its' surrounding counties.
I am a graduate student at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley,Ga.I do not see a reason to make the college different at this time, nor add classes on this college campus. If students spend more time studying, they will make better grades at FVSU.I personally put in three hours a day studying my two classes before going the bed at night. In closing, keep the college the way it is and study students. Most of all, do not learn to take on more class than one can handle in a semester at FVSU.
