Like any other city, Fort Pierce has its perks and its faults. It's been named the worst city in Florida, largely for its crime rates. Because of this, Fort Pierce has gained a bad reputation. High crime, no malls, poor maintenance. But there are redeeming qualities. It offers beautiful beaches, a state park, good education, various museums and galleries, and charm. With it's colorful sunrises and sunsets, local roaming chickens and peacocks (yes, peacocks), lively architecture, historic preservation, and rich culture its hard not to be allured

I have lived here for almost 2 years and have never had any issues. Except for that tie someone stole my license plate! The police were very nice and were very helpful! I love how close I am to Hutchinson Island. The beaches, restaurants are limited but the food is great! Overall I am happy with my time in fort pierce!
I've been living here all my childhood. It's a great place to start my career. We have a very affordable college in the area and because the city isn't too big I have the chance to meet the local leaders. I've developed a great relationship with the school members, business owners and the people around. I plan on living here in future. The great thing about this place is I already have my job waiting for me! The population isn't too big or too small which fits what I like.
