There is to much crime in most parts. The town could be a lot more cleaner and safer. There should be more affordable housing since it is supposed to be low income. Transportation is not terrible. However there is not much to do in this town. A lot of events are closed off early due to violence some times. There are a lot of assistance to sign up for but no actual assistance available to receive. The town could do a lot better if they had some major improvements. Low income housing rents is always being increased. There are frequent shootings that happen in this part of town, which makes it extremely dangerous for young children. The drug crime rate is way to high for such a small area. I do like my schooling here however. Living in this area definitely helps on deals when shopping around. People can sometimes be friendly but on other hand they can also be ignorant and rude. Can live here if you can handle area.

Raised in this town, went to school in this town, and accomplished many goals in this town. Fort Pierce is a perfect little town to settle down and start a family, you are right by the beach and have plenty of options for things to go and do. I love this town!
Fort Pierce as I will say is average if to me at least. As an African American this is pretty normal. The affordability is pretty good for what you get, and the public schools are about as normal as you can get in a mostly black community. At least where I live(which is the northern part Fort Pierce) you will expect a regular life here as long as you mind your business and and keep doing you. The only bad things happens around night usually and the animals keep there distance, which include like raccoons and possums and usual birds. But other than that for people who are used to urban stuff then you'll be depending on the area.
