Fort Myers Shores, to me, is a good community to live in. I cannot guarantee it being the ideal place for everyone to think is amazing, but you can make a modest living here and places nearby. One thing I can say that may lead people away is that there are not many fun activities around or leisure options at your disposal. This could be something that could assure that people really enjoy visiting or living there. However, it is a small area out of Fort Myers so it's normal to not expect very much.
Fort Myers SHores area of Fort Myers is a relatively new area of the orginial Fort Myers area. If you consider that when Henry Ford and Thomas Edison came down here to make it their winter homes, it was not developed. Made primarily of single family homes, the area was to make it affordable for young firsy time buyers. My uncle was one of the first in the 1970's to buy a home here. We have easy access to I-75 and minutes from South Fort myers which has become a thriving metropolitan area that competes well with larger cities like New York and Atlanta. Riverdale high school is only 2 miles down the road and Riverhall and Alva Middle schools are within driving distance. The area is very compatable with young and old, with Senior assited living facalities in the area and super friendly people every where you go!
Its getting worse and worse.
The crime and safety in the area I live in is the least of my concerns. I know the area that I live in is low for any crime activity and the police are usually around my area, especially at night.
This is a nice area to live. Lots to do and great weather.
Has a variety of restaurants that offer anything you would be craving. Except tacos. We don't have a taco bell close by.
When I am running on the streets for exercise I rarely see anyone out exercising. There are no gyms and you don't see a lot of people outside.
