Have been living in Ft. Myers, FL for over 7 years. For a smaller city we have an International Airport (RSW), beautiful beaches, great weather, major retail and outlet shopping, many restaurants, colleges and are approx 1.5 hours from Ft Lauderdale, 2 hours from Miami, 2.5 hours from Tampa and 3.5 hours from Orlando giving residents and visitors many vacation options from Busch Gardens, Disney, Universal, Sea World and not to forget 4 major cruise Ports! We are a melting pot community from around the US as well as friends from Canada and overseas who come for holiday or have private residences here part of the year. The only downside is as summer approaches, our "snowbirds" travel back north and that gives year-round residents more access to our wonderful amenities and lifestyle but the more people get bitten by the Paradise Coast bug, the more stay permanently, if you get what I'm saying :)

This is my home town and I will always love this sweet and diverse town. There are a variety of things to do with a variety of people. Since I have been living here, it has grown immensely due to FGCU and I can only predict it will be growing more. The college has brought a younger crowd to this town and businesses and housing markets are booming. I would recommend this town to anyone. Plus it’s close to wonderful beaches as well, it’s a win-win!
Fort Myers is big with many restaurants and fun places to go to! Many events are happening in Downtown Fort Myers! There's an event happening almost every weekend! The nightlife is lively and around every corner is something to do! Wherever I go, there is always at least one place hat is hiring! The diversity is very kind too, everywhere you look there is a person with a different race. Though people aren't always nice wherever you go, tons of people are accepting and understanding! I wouldn't want to live any place else!
