Folcroft used to be nice.
A quiet little working-class suburb. Now, it's on a steep decline that I feel will continue.
It started in the 2008 recession. Same story as a lot of other places. People bought homes for far more than they should have. The market crashed. People foreclosed in droves. Homes left abandoned, often for years at a time. Taxes left unpaid. The school began to suffer - and is largely considered crap now. Negative elements started moving into the neighborhood - Google news stories about Folcroft. You'll see drug busts, car burglaries, etc. You're more likely to get in an argument with your neighbor now about how his ignorant daughter keeps parking on your private drivaway than you are to amicably say "Hello" with a smile.
And the worst part? If you wanted to get out and leave? Good luck selling your home. Homes stay listed for a long time unless they're corner lots or excessively cheap.

Living in Folcroft affords suburban bliss with a city-like atmosphere. Minutes from Center City Philadelphia, Folcroft has its own public library and is home to the Delaware County Vo-Tech School. Open space and recreation needs are met by the three parks within the Borough, one of which shares a common border with the Federally owned John Heinz Wildlife Preserve.
Recreation is also provided by the Folcroft Boys and Girls Clubs, the Folcroft Swim Club and the Folcroft Senior Citizens.
Folcroft is a good neighborhood to be when it comes to being close to other students. Even though there are a lot of kids, the neighborhood is decently quiet, so it is not noisy. Although, the only thing I do not like about Folcroft is the length from Folcroft to the High School (one hour if walking, and seven minutes using the school bus) but the elementary and middle school is very close by.
