I grew up in this area and purchased a house in the area three years ago. My son attends an elementary school in the neighborhood as well. The schools in the area are mostly low-income and rated as average. Compared to other parts of Sacramento, the houses are a bit more affordable. It isn’t the nicest of areas, but not the worst either. It is ethnically diverse as well. There are plenty of stores nearby to shop at, which is convenient. We also have a neighborhood association in which a policeman patrols the neighborhood. Located close to the freeway as well.
I love the diversity around here; everyone is just family. What is racism in this neighborhood? Simply does not exist! However, poverty is a huge issue among our residents. Break-ins are a totally common occurrence. I hope to see an improvement in security in our neighborhood.
The area as a whole is quite nice. No one is loud. Everyone who lives around this area is very respectful of others. When help is needed, the neighbors never hesitate to lend a hand. If I could live here again, personally, I probably wouldn't. I prefer something a bit different, where there's a small town, and people know each other a bit more than they do here. Overall, I would rate this area an 8/10, only because I prefer a small town, with a few people. This area, as a neighborhood, and community, I see more houses being built, that consists of more families with their young children because there is a great elementary school right around the corner from where I live. More job openings will eventually follow as well. In face, there are already many stores willing to hire people full, and even part time, especially if you are a student.
