Our community is filled is gang and gun violence; it is hard to feel safe participating in daily activities, because you never know. I've lived her practically my whole life, and I should feel "comfortable," yet I'm still scared to fall asleep at night or even take the trash out. I never know if I'll be a third party victim due to a shoot-out, being mugged, our even my house being broken into at night. I love it here because the culture and citizens of the community are diverse, but it is definitely not safe... I cannot wait to get out of this town. The police do not even take us seriously either, it takes them around 10-15 minutes to get to a crime-scene... by that time, the shooter is already gone and the victim could be dead.
Florida city is a small city located south of Florida. Since the city is small, many people know each other there, and perhaps it's a good thing since people are most likely to build relationships with each other. I have lived in Florida City for 10 years and my experience there has not been so bad, but it also has not been so good. Florida city is not the safest place in Florida since there has been several violent disputations in the city. I have not felt threatened by anyone since I am anti-social, but I know people that have experienced these things at first hand. Although there are negative things about the city, there are also good ones. Since it's a small city, many people bond, but what I would like to see is more people there bonding and building relationships with each other because that'll make the city more safe.
This small city sure has its ups and downs. The people here are nice and all but it isn't a very appealing city at all at first glance you'll notice the dirty side walks and the remains of hurricane Irma have yet to be picked up. But you still see the kids out there having fun with smiles. It is a very diverse community as well having African-Americans, South Americans, Cubans, Asians , Europeans, Jamaicans, Haitians, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans and almost any race you can think of although they don't really show themselves.
