Florence is not only affordable and friendly but its beautiful! I have live in Florence for 3 1/2 years alone with two little boys and I've never lived alone. I was terrified and worried however Florence police and residents keep me safe. Every one speaks and look out for you, it's like a family here. I can't wait to finish school as a nurse and give back to the city of Florence.
I love this town. It's a decently sized suburban area. The people around here are super nice and friendly. A lot of people around here have dogs, which is awesome, and probably just a staple of the suburbs. The roads are decently well maintained and this place is definitely not in the middle of nowhere. There are plenty of schools (both public and private) around, and restaurants, and churches. Richland is practically less than 10 minutes away, and it has a Walmart and post office and everything too, so I'd say we have everything we need. Except tourist attractions. Don't come here for that.
I love living in Florence due to the family friendly environment. Everyone is connected and has each other’s backs. If you’re in need of something, the community will pull together to make that happen. Living in Florence and knowing that you’re safe is such a relief due to how dangerous that world has become. Our police department takes their job seriously and goes above and beyond to keep our community safe. In 2017, Florence was named ‘Safest Town in Mississippi’. I feel that bringing diversity and job opportunities could only better the town. Since Florence is such a small town, the residents tend to be more close-minded. Bringing diversity to the community could only help open the minds of our community. More people would migrate to the town if we had more job opportunities. Also, if we had more job opportunities, some of our residents would not have to drive to Jackson every day to a job; they could stay in their home town.
