Concrete and condominiums! Anything you want except for parks and recreation is close by, but if you want to sit at a picnic table and eat lunch, forget it. Hike a trail? Only if you live in a condominium community. LOOOOONG stop lights since there is just SO much traffic! Get used to waiting through 2 stoplights at many of the intersections. It is always a pleasure to drive away from Florence to go back home.

Florence is small, dense, and busy, but you can't beat having everything in one place. My wife and I live off I-75 and it only takes 5-10 minutes to get to anything we want - movie theaters, restaurants, grocery stores, malls, it's all here. Traffic can get bad on Mall Road on the weekends, but otherwise it flows pretty well. The city keeps everything well maintained and clean, and they put a lot of work into community spaces and amenities. It's a great place to live!
I am from Dallas, Texas so moving to Florence, Kentucky was a huge change. The scenery is lovely and the weather in the summer is beautiful. It has a small town vibe. It is quiet and clean. It is easy to access all major needs, stores, eateries and extra curricular. However it does have small town mentality, people are very much to themselves and not very welcoming. We have experienced a lot of racism toward our children who are mixed. The schools are great academically however we have run into the bulk of our issues in the schools themselves.
