Fleming Island is the perfect town for those who enjoy quaint and comfortable living. Scenery throughout "the Island" is beautiful and always kept trimmed. In Fleming, you're bound to see tons of people strolling on the sidewalks while walking their pampered pooches, runners jogging while pushing baby strollers, and golf carts driving on the road alongside cars. There are also 3 great schools in Fleming: Fleming High School, Fleming Elementary, and Thunderbolt Elementary. Fleming Elementary is filled with a great staff of hardworking and awesome teachers. Fleming High is a huge school with many students and maintains an "A" grade thanks to the diligent teachers and administration. It's a typical suburban neighborhood. Everyone is pretty friendly. I have lived in Fleming Island for almost 20 years and it has boomed with development. The school system is really good Fleming Island High is in the top 25 public high schools in Florida. There are plenty of restaurants and even a movie theater within a 5 mile radius. Most residents are commuters to Jacksonville which is about an hour drive during rush hour. For the price of living here it's a bang for your buck!
We love Fleming Island! The location of our home is so convenient and we have 4 pools, 3 golf courses and a lot of local restaurants available. My high school is close to my house along with groceries, doctors, etc. There are several lakes in our neighborhood too and walking paths everywhere! We love it!
