We do have a homeless population and somewhat of a drug problem. However, I find it no worse than most other small cities! In fact, Fitchburg is the most unique city. The architecture is old and beautiful, and there is so much history. There's an art museum and a couple upcoming breweries. On the outskirts, it's a small town feel. Downtown it's busier and there are a few homeless people wandering about. Some of the population that hangs around down there are actually very kind! Nothing bad ever happened to me, even when I fooled around down there as a kid. I went to the public schools here my entire life, too. I got into a university where I went to school with kids who got private educations all their lives and kept up with them, if not performed better than them academically. The public schools are good and the teachers are helpful. Fitchburg is such a unique place to be if you give it a chance.

The city of Fitchburg has a lot to offer in terms of food and events. Often there are festivals or carnivals that are fun to attend or teach the community about a certain culture. These types of events help to establish a sense of community and tolerance within the diverse city. In terms of schooling options, both Fitchburg and Lunenburg high schools offer great educations from teachers who are passionate about education and both schools have decent course selections and varieties. Although there are many restaurants and festivals every once and a while, there is little to do for kids on the weekends. However, there are more options for adults. Fitchburg is a great place to live if you want that city feel while still having access to suburban life.
I’ve lived in Fitchburg my whole life, and it hasn’t been too bad to me. I’ve got a good education here and made a lot of friends. I’ve been able to live a great life here so far. It is not usually the safest place in the world, some areas of the town are known as pretty sketchy areas that are riddled with crime. The schools aren’t usually the safest either, with some kids being a part of gangs and other kids getting in trouble with the law. But I’ve managed to stay out of trouble and continue on to college where I am getting a great education at Fitchburg State University. Although Fitchburg isn’t the best place on earth, I did grow up here and it’s the place I call home. I’d love to see it become a nicer place to live and I hope that can happen in the near future.
