I used to live around the New Fountain apartment, way before the high way 151 has completely change. Before the highway became more busier, it was a safer environment and going to bus stop was much more comfortable. Now that the highway has been changed, and the population has increase. It became more difficult to walk at night, getting a job, and at the increase of hit and runs.
I've lived in Fitchburg for a little over four years. It is a very non-cohesive community. It is situated south west of Madison and has a diverse landscape.
What used to be farmland two and three decades ago has been turned into suburbs, at least for parts of Fitchburg. The city could be described quite succinctly as the gray zone where country turns to city.
A few months ago our city had an online survey in which one of the questions was what area do residents consider the city center. For most communities this sort of question would never need to asked, for most communities it would be a simple answer. For Fitchburg the answer is far from straight forward. Our city is split into three different school districts. Driving five minutes down one road takes you from city buildings and bus lines to farms and fields.
Despite straddling different communities, the city of Fitchburg is home. I love living in the middle of all the madness.

I really like how close it is to everything. I am a bike ride away from many restaurants and stores. While there are some less nice neighborhoods, the one close to my house hasn't caused me any big issues. Overall, I like my neighborhood a lot because it is where I have grown up.
