Very few crimes, quick police response when something does happen.
I love being so close to so much, and it's a liberal, educated area, which meshes well with my values. However, it is a little isolated-- 3 hours from the nearest big city.
It's a very safe place to live. The people are very friendly compared to other areas, like big cities. It's a little pricey because it's a college town, but that also means there are a lot of things to do which is really nice. There are a lot of parks here for kids to play which is also really nice. Overall it's a good place to live.
