The Forest Lakes subdivision has a creek which is dammed up in summer to provide a nice swimming pond with sandy beach. It's rather peaceful here. Lots of redwoods, madrones and oaks. Many creeks flow into the San Lorenzo river which flows through Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. There is a historic covered bridge which spans the river adjacent to a park. Also, a creek runs along the perimeter of my property, flowing all year and brings local wildlife such as deer, wild turkeys, blue jays, woodpeckers, squirrels and many song birds to the neighborhood. We also own our own water company here in Forest Lakes that produces crystal clear abundant water. The town of Felton, which has a sort of old west feel to it, has several very good restaurants, bank, small shops, community market with fresh organic produce and good evening entertainment. The air is clean here and we are just about 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean and the beaches near Santa Cruz.

Felton is a small town in central California near Santa Cruz. It is up in the mountains about ten minutes from downtown Santa Cruz. Everyone here is very healthy and likes to get outside and explore. I've met some very kind people with kind hearts who are very intelligent and will become very successful.
I have lived in Felton since I was 5 years old. I love it here. It is beautiful with nice parks and a pretty high school, middle school, and elementary school. The schools are all butted up against each other which promotes community closeness. I feel safe and secure in Felton. There is little nightlife in Felton, it being a small town and all. The real estate market offers mountain homes, but being with in Santa Cruz County has sky rocketed the prices of even small, old homes. Felton boasts a New Leaf market which sells all organic products and has good restaurants. The majority of the population here in Felton would be identified as white/Caucasian. Jobs are typically lower paying in Felton therefore most people commute outside of the area for work and higher education, but if you enjoy living in the mountains with friendly neighbors that are not right over the fence Felton is wonderful.
