I love all the nature and outdoor activity you can do with family. There are amazing parks that you can go too and learn about native plants, animals and so much more. There are plenty of hiking trails and with the mountains just an hour or so away that is also an option! If you like museums there are plenty near Fort Bragg! You learn about the history of our military and the planes that were used. My husband and I try to stay very active and there is ALWAYS something to do! On date nights we have a large amount of restaurants to chose from. Our favorite so far is Bubba's! There are also bubble tea spots. I have never had it before and it is honestly amazing.
Fayetteville is a decent place to live in certain areas of the city, but some places are more questionable. People generally do not know how to drive out here, but everything is fairly close by so you don’t have to go far. The nursing staff I work with at Cape Fear are great and everyone is very personable. The community frequently comes together for varying sporting events and community outreach events. The botanical gardens are absolutely beautiful during the winter with lights and decorations. Overall, there are thing I love about the area and will miss when we leave, but there are things we won’t miss as well. This goes for any community.
I've lived in Fayetteville since the summer of 2014, right before my junior year of high school. I am service-connected, as my parents are active duty army members. The city of Fayetteville is great for those who are connected to the military in some way, and for those who are dedicated to serving active-duty and veteran service members. With Fort Bragg being here, there are many different types of people that live here, from all walks of life! You are bound to find people that share similar beliefs, values, and interests as you--if you are willing to look. The city is currently under a bit of construction because of the growing number of people that are moving here, which makes for a longer commute time. It is very family-friendly, and the city is a decent distance from the capital, Raleigh. Additionally, Fayetteville is a short distance away from the mountains and from the beaches.
