Walker county is better that where we used to live, but it still has some big issues. I think if they could get the local government fixed then everything else might fall into place. The same person has been running this county for too long and there needs to be new blood. Otherwise, it's not bad. There were some tax increases, but they are the first in a while. The schools could you a bit of work, but some of that is the states doing. I would live in Walker again.

For me transportation is great, I use my car. From where I live there are not a lot of places I can walk or bike to. If I lived in town, instead of on the outskirts, then there would be many options for stores and eating. There is public transportation available, but you have to call to have them pick you up. I have never used it as I have not yet needed it. Traffic is usually pretty good in Chickamauga, but if you go into Fort Oglethorpe it can get a little more congested.
There is a low standard of living, with many trailer parks in the area. I grew up in this area but it has changed drastically since then. My daughter has had several of her friends parents- in jail, on house arrest, or not in their child's life at all. If I could go back I would have bought a house in a different county.
