The area is safe as ever. Nothing bad really happens around here, and if it does the police or fire department are right on it. I feel safe living where I do.
People do not appreciate what we have as much as we should. Nothing bad really ever happens in this town, and it's sad to think that there are people who don't recognize that. The area is beautiful, the energy is positive, and when people need to come together, they do so. Overall, my experience living here since I was 5 has been nothing but good to me. I wish others could realize the lack of crime, the great school system, all of the possibilities we have. I could have grown up somewhere more interesting, yes, but I'm still not complaining.
The houses are spacious, well designed, and beautifully maintained. It is a common occurrence to see four or five different landscaping companies on a given day. There are usually a few vacant homes for sale, but they are generally bought pretty quickly. It is expensive to live in this neighborhood, but well worth it.
I live in Greenbriar Hills which is a subdivision in Fairview Township. This is a great place to raise kids; it is very safe and in the summers the older kids host soccer and kickball games. There is always someone for the kids to play with. Everyone is very friendly here. The homes are kept in pristine condition and Greenbriar is a very prestigious neighborhood. It is very close to the Kahkwa Club. Kahkwa is country club that offers fine dining, summer camps for children, a wonderful pool area with a kiddie pool, tons of summer parties and get-togethers, and has one of the best golf courses in the area. People generally move in with young kids and continue to live here for ever.
There is no concern over crime in the town at all.
There is literally zero crime. The last crime in Fairview was a speeding ticket.
I love living here. I have never felt threatened and there is always someone willing to stop and chat. The people are nice and the school district is great. Fairview is the perfect place to raise a family.
We have quite a few aggressive drivers and some of the lesser traveled roads are riddled with horrible potholes.
We have a great family amusement park and right next to it is Presque Isle.
There's a lot of unique little restaurants in the area, but if you prefer a well-known area, there are those options, too. Many small restaurants have odd hours, and a lot are not open past 10, so if you work late, it can be hard to find a restaurant open near you.
You can find a job if you really try, but it's sometimes hard to find one in your field that can pay what you need, depending on your field. Also, a lot of health care workers are being laid off.
Usually the owners are super friendly and have no problem explaining things you don't understand or have questions about. Many times the employees and owners are much more friendly and open-minded than large national companies.
The unemployment rate is higher than the national average.
