Fairhope is a great little town with a sense of community feel. Lot of retirees are migrating here from Northern states. Problem with this hidden jewel it has recently been discovered and the real estate is extremely expensive. Homes are commanding a square footage price of over $300-$400/sq. ft. Unreal! Realtors are having their hay day. Unfortunately, the bay is so contaminated you cannot go in the water. Sewage spills happen so often it is ridiculous, and nothing is done to remedy the problem. There is also a cancer cluster here that is their big dirty secret, a lot of children have contracted cancer because of it. Very sad, doing again, nothing. Health care is also very risky. Supposedly the closest hospital that has good rating is Mobile, and that was a nightmare, trainees and uneducated staff. Enter at your own risk. Summer is unbearably hot and humid. Too hot to enjoy outdoors. I would definitely reconsider the move if I had known all this beforehand.

Fairhope is a beautiful little town with a true southern belle charm! During the holiday season, all of the trees downtown are strung with lights and it is so dreamy! There are gorgeous flowers overflowing on every street corner and the famous Fairhope Clock in the center of town adds the perfect touch for this storybook town!
Fairhope is a great place to vacation. I has a nice, welcoming, small town vibe that everyone around here loves. There are a variety of restaurants and small shops all around Fairhope. The Fairhope pier is one of the most popular places to go for fishing or just hanging out. There are well maintained flowers on every street corner. Fairhope is the only place I know of that keeps even its trash cans looking pretty. I wish there were more things for highschool/middle school kids to do, but we manage. Fairhope is still a very beautiful and homey place to be.
