The Bay Area has been a huge mecca for job opportunities but with it comes a lot of expense and has extended out even as far as this area. Most career-type jobs are going to be a drive from this area unless your career is medical. Like any other area, there's always a concern for safety in specific places in town. Anything near the mall I wouldn't recommend. Nightlife you need to go to San Fran or Davis but there are tons of beautiful hillsides and trails to run to maintain a healthy lifestyle!

My experience living in Fairfield has been very poor. My family and I live in an apartment and the surrounding neighborhood is not the safest. There are several homeless people that litter the ground with trash, mostly eaten food, and broken glass. We have been followed multiple times and harrassed by homeless people sitting on sidewalks while walking our dog. The homeless will urinate and defecate on the sidewalks and on the side of business buildings.
I moved to Fairfield, CA from Henderson, NV due to my husband being stationed at Travis AFB. I have enjoyed living here for the past year and a half. I do feel like the crime rate is higher then normal. It seems that there is an issue with business robberies and human trafficking. However, I have never personally experienced this and have felt safe to venture out and explore the town. I like that it takes only 20 minutes to get to any store, the convenience of that is really nice. It is also close enough to Napa, San Fransisco, & Sacramento to make day trips with my family. Lastly, I would like to mention that there are always events in or near my city. I love that! Over all I would recommend this city to friends and family members.
