I have been a resident of Fairfax, VA for more than a decade now and I love it! There are so many places to visit over the weekend and it's easy to travel to popular attractions (30 minutes to D.C., 20 minutes to Annandale, 25 minutes to Centreville, etc.). The convenience really ups the quality of living here, and I would highly recommend anyone planning to move to consider Fairfax. Lots of construction has been going on around my neighborhood lately, so I'm excited to see what additions will be brought to this wonderful city. Early education is also high quality at Fairfax, as it is a part of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). I'd say it's a hotspot for families with young children.

Fairfax City is great! With more young professionals and families moving in, there are many new restaurants opening and entertainment is improving. The City Government is among the most responsive in Northern Virginia and does a great job maintaining and improving the city. New development is improving transit in the city and making it more vibrant overall. There are many festivals in Old Town Fairfax and schools are also among the best in the country. Fairfax City is truly a hidden gem in Northern Virginia!
Fairfax, Virginia is a very diverse and busy area. While facilities and resources are easily accessible, there's always the issue of untimely traffic congestion, despite having widely paved roads. Fairfax is known for it's wealth, as it is impressively, among the top ten wealthiest counties in America. However, this does not exactly mean that the job market is always booming. With the the very few cons already being weighed, I'd to highlight that Fairfax is a very safe area with numerous 'hangout' spots. There's no need to worry about your kids going out or facing any discriminatory issues as the area is quite diverse as well.
