Fair Lawn is an exceptional place. It is safe with remarkable public transportation access (both train and bus) and a variety of shopping and dining options including major chains and local businesses. The public schools are top-notch. My teachers prepared me well for higher education. I adore the library and its extensive activities. Ultimately, the downside is its lack of affordability, which can be said for Bergen County in general. The cost of living is astronomical in comparison to wages, and despite the overall affluence of this area, many are struggling.

Great place! Extremely family friendly and safe for all people of all races, ethnicities, and religions. Great schools.
Fair Lawn itself is...okay. Its suburbs but the houses are expensive and New Jersey has the highest property tax in the country. On top of that, there are not many apartments so not ideal for college students. However, it is very close to other towns that have many malls, food, and entertainment (like Ridgewood or Fort Lee). On the other hand, it borders Elmwood Park (not known for its safety) and is close to Paterson. Overall, Fair Lawn itself is safe and crime is low.
