Exeter is quaint town about an hour outside of Boston. Nestled along the banks of the Exeter River, this quiet town boasts the New England charm that visitors long for. From its beautiful colonial-style homes, to the unique eateries downtown there truly is something for everyone here. Not to mention it's an incredibly dog friendly community! Come browse the local shops on Water Street, or take a stroll through the heart of campus at Phillips Exeter Academy. You won't be disappointed by the beauty that Exeter, New Hampshire has to offer.
Growing up in Exeter, I am a bit biased. I, however, think Exeter is a wonderful town! Exeter is a beautiful area, with many different scenic places to visit. It has a lovely downtown, with many different local shops and restaurants. The town has a few local events each year like the Alien festival and our American Independence Day festival held on July 13th. If you want to go to the beach it's only about 10 minutes away. Exeter High School provided me with a solid education and Phillips Exeter High School is one of the most prestigious high schools in the country. I would say any family would enjoy living in Exeter!
Exeter is a great city to live in. There are a lot of restaurants and shops. Phillips Academy adds to the flavor and diversity of the area. Downtown is a safe place for older children to hang out and meet friends. There are many businesses in and around the Exeter area which provides many employment opportunities. The people are friendly and helpful. The public school system is rated very highly and provides many opportunities for the children. Exeter is not the most affordable area, however. Taxes are high and many of the homes are priced higher than other areas. The school system does make up for that though.
