Evansville is a very strong and safe small town community. It offers a very wonderful place to raise a family and a convenient location for professionals being only 25 minutes to Madison or 20 minutes towards Janesville it’s a great in between city to live . Moved here 24 years ago, our children have been able to participate in many school activities and local clubs such as theatre, music, sports, dance, and a strong scouting program here. With Lake Leota as a base setting, the area boasts of beautiful lakes, rivers, and parks for outdoor activities. We have a very strong community base of adults who volunteer for community events. The Evansville 4th of July, is one of the most attended and well organized events in the area. This event includes a large parade , best music, and amazing fireworks in southern Wisconsin. Lined with a sweet cobblestone street downtown, and old Victorian houses, our visiting friends once called Evansville, the little Norman Rockwell town.
I moved to Evansville when my children were young. We raised them here feeling safe. They participated in every sport available. Worked locally bussing tables, lifeguarding and cashiering at the pig.
We own a local business in town and my husband grew up here. I have seen a lot of positive changes and growth here over the past 30+ years.
I hope we can continue our small town feel while industrial growth takes place to unburden the taxpayer. That will hopefully keep our little downtown small business owners doors open.
The historic homes and beautiful downtown buildings are something Evansville should be proud of. We are deep in history and rich in compassion for our town and one another. When someone asks me where I'm from, I
proudly say Evansville is my hometown.

I like Evansville because it is quiet and a good place to grow up. many of my friends are right next to me. It is also a very peaceful place to live and there are many opportunities for socializing and growing as a community. There are many great events that happen throughout the year and small businesses that are friendly and give back to the community of the town. I would recommend living in Evansville to others 100%.
