Evans is so ideal! I don’t think we could afford such a lovely home anywhere else. We live in a safe, quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and easy access to parks and splash pads, the library, and an amphitheater. We are 15 minutes from the lake, which is big and beautiful! You are within 20 minutes of hundreds of restaurants and stores and the Augusta mall, which is surprisingly nice. Evans is SAFE! We are also two or three hours from Atlanta, Hilton Head, Charleston, Savannah, Blue Ridge (mountains), not far from Myrtle Beach, and six hours from Orlando. Atlanta is a huge airport so flights are more affordable. Downsides: (like anywhere in the south) heat, humidity, big bugs, hurricane season (we mostly just get rain, but I hear the power has gone out for weeks in the past). So there’s that. As a young mom trying to entertain young children. I give it a B+. I think I could stay here forever if it had a decent fall and wasn’t 100 degrees until November.

I moved here with my family in 2017. At first I was looking forward to the move, but once I started school I started to feel homesick. I had to start at a new school in the 11th grade and it has been really hard to adjust. The kids at the school were not very welcoming. I love the house that my family and I live in. The neighborhood is very pretty, but most people keep to their selves. The roads are not very congested which is good; however the area could use some improvements such as more restaurants and more unique stores. Overall, I wish my family never would have made the move.
Evans is a wonderful place to live. It’s got everything someone needs to start a family, entertain the family, and grow old with them. Great schools: elementary-college. Incredible neighborhoods at low costs, but great amenities and very low crime rates. Only thing keeping me from giving it the 5th star, that it could easily obtain in the near future, is the lack of original small businesses: restaurants, boutiques, etc. and the lack of entertainment for young adults.

Evans is in a prime location. It’s right next to the Augusta National golf course, champions retreat golf course, and is the home of the international Disc Golf association. It’s 2 hours from several beaches, mountains, and major cities in Atlanta and Charlotte. Evans is boarding the Savannah river and clarks Hill lake.
