Road construction has been ongoing since 2021 and I believe after it's finished it still won't be able to keep up with the traffic from the 3,000+ homes yet to be built.
There aren't many great restaurants to choose from or healthy options.
There aren't many summer camps for kids, or they fill up quickly.
I do feel somewhat safe here.
Pinewoods School is an excellent school.
Overall there is not much to do here but the homes being built are beautiful and some communities have excellent amenities.

We live here. Estero is growing rapidly and an alternative to Naples. Majority of folks are middle to upper middle class baby boomers. Many are coming out of Midwest states splurging on winter residences or moving here fulltime. The price of real estate is rapidly escalating and cost of living is relatively higher than other parts of the country unless your coming out of California or the Northeast.
Cultural diversity is sorely lacking here but fortunately for those who value it, will find plenty of it next door in Bonita Spring and Fort Myers, with plenty of different restaurants. Likewise, art and culture can be found in Naples.
Overall Estero, is a safe, growing town with plenty of amenities, retail shopping, a large university, and an arena. Its a bedroom community, but thats about it.

I have lived in Estero, Florida, for practically my whole life. I love the community and the nightlife. My family and I love to eat at the delicious restaurants and go to the beaches. My friends all live here and we love to go kayaking together. Koreshan State Park is another place that I enjoy spending time at. Estero is such a beautiful place.
