Great family-friendly small town. Good schools, great neighbors. Close to big city and backed up to National Forest. Ideal place to live!

Estacada, OR is a quiet small town near a river and the forest. The town itself is okay, but not the greatest place to be if you want things to do. Besides swimming in the river, there isn't anything to do in this small town and not many people to hang out with. The school system is not great and seems to be a bit behind. The commute time to get to any jobs outside of Estacada can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, which commonly wastes gas. The jobs also tend to be hard to get in this small town for anyone who is new and doesn't have many friends in the residence. The benefit to this town is that there isn't any dangerous crime and it is quiet.
Estacada is a beautiful small town near the Clackamas River. It has a rich history as a logging town and some families have lived here for generations. I attended Estacada High School and found it to be a positive experience. Although it is a small and underfunded school, the teachers and staff did the best they could to offer us opportunities to succeed. There is a thriving art culture as well as beautiful natural surroundings.
The drawbacks of living here are that there are few jobs and this town is about 30 minutes of driving from the surrounding cities. Another drawback is that Estacada lacks diversity in most respects.
