From my experience living here, the social issues are plentiful and the opportunities are few. People are classist, pretentious, racist, dismissive, and passive.

The school district in unfavorable and only getting worse. There is a staggering drug problem here, and the only rich culture here revolves around beer. Our beach is virtually non-existent, and I worry constantly over the safety of my children.

Escanaba is a great representation of the Upper Peninsula also known as the Yooper country. It has great areas to hunt, fish, and enjoy the everchanging seasons. This area is a very cordial and welcoming to people coming in from outside of the area. Escanaba is known for it's brewery, coal mining, farming,
and manufacturing.
Clean friendly community, conveniently located on Lake Michigan - you're never too far from water! Older community that needs to allow "fresh blood" in the businesses.
