So far my experience with Erwin is what I expected. Not a very big town/city , it's quiet, friendly neighborhoods, etc. Some people in Erwin aren't that friendly, it just seems that they have a nasty attitude towards people when you talk to them. I like that Erwin is quiet, there is not much crime that goes on around Erwin, and it's peaceful. I think the public school systems are very good because we have the same privileges as the big cities and Erwin is just a little town. I would like to see Erwin change by building more subdivisions around the area so there can be more options for people to live, and if they want to live somewhere more quiet and peaceful. Other than that I think Erwin is a pretty good town/city to live in.
I was born and raised in this town. It is peaceful, but there is not enough to do around here. Unfortunately, you have to drive far to get somewhere to do something.
I grew up in Erwin and found that there isn't much to do there. Most of the residence turn to drugs, whether that be because of lack of entertainment or lack of mental health services. It's quite dreary place. I wouldn't recommend anyone live there unless they're looking for cheap housing, willing to commute, and don't have kids that would be enrolled in the public school system.
