It's a growing area, so many new apartments and food places are going up. The new football stadium and training facility isn't more than a 15 min drive dependent on traffic. I feel generally safe, even in what is considered "sketchy" areas within Enterprise.

There are negative and positives everywhere you go. The positives is that it is quiet and there is little traffic. Elevation is higher since it is closer to Red Rocks, Calico Basin not the hotel), it can tend to be cooler than the East side of Las Vegas and Henderson. There is not a lot of shopping or anything really to keep the cars coming. The negative is that it does seem far from places, people, things. Overall, I would prefer to live in Enterprise which is comprised of Mountains Edge and housing not necessarily in Mts. Edge but West of it off Fort Apache.
As far as crime, it is everywhere in Nevada but for some reason there seems to be more gunshot incidents in SW Ls Vegas or Enterprise. Rhodes Ranch and Huntington, has had their share of gunshot wounds and fatalities.
From the friendly neighbors to the various shops that have sprung up recently, this part of town doesn't disappoint. Most importantly though, is that the area is relatively safe.
