Enfield is great because it has a lot of things to do, a good public education system, and also offers scenic and quiet areas as well. Lots to do and close to cities like Springfield and Hartford!

It's way better than Vernon, CT. I enjoyed the community more than the one in Vernon. Vernon's schools are horrible and treated me horrifically out of discrimination and their complete disregard for mental health in every which way possible. There were gangs roaming and I got into a scuffle because I was not white. I have tons of miserable experiences associated with Vernon, CT. However, Enfield has a much more tolerant community and their schools treated me with respect and dignity unlike Rockville-Vernon's didn't. I have a lot more opportunities here and I met a lot of really wonderful individuals here and I met zero from Rockville-Vernon. Even Thompsonville (the lower end of Enfield) has nicer folks than I would ever dare to meet in Rockville (their lower end of Vernon). I hate Vernon.
I grew up in Enfield. It's a great town to raise a family. It's situated between two major cities; Boston and NYC, which is nice because each city is only a few hours drive away. I had a great childhood in Enfield, it always felt very safe and my family also lived close by so I'd visit them every single weekend. Those are my fondest memories. I still live in this town 30 years later, and so do my parents. It's a cozy area, and has many amenities that major cities have such as a mall, movie theater, lots of shopping and restaurants. We're spoiled for choice and yet it's not so big where I ever felt like I was lost in the crowd.
