It's a great place to live and grow up. I would like to see more homeowners as opposed to renters who trash the development.
I live in this neighborhood currently and I am okay with it. It is not the best city but it is okay. There definitely is a police presence and there is an up side and a down side to that. It makes you feel more safe but then you wonder what is really going on outside your home that they need to be that present.
Elsmere is a small town right outside of Wilmington that is a tight knit community. It's a town that provides easy access to downtown Wilmington and to 1-95. The library in the town is small, but a great place to go for resources. A variety of restaurants in the town provide good selection for a local foodie not wanting to venture too far from home in search of a good meal.
The fact that it is reasonably clean and quiet and the police force is excellent. The housing is also fairly priced.
Elsmere is the perfect neighborhood for middle class civilians. On the first day of each month residents receive a call informing them of all the wonderful things to happen in the following month. Town hall loves to connect with its residents with movie nights of extraordinary films, like Frozen, near the public library. The winter parade has developed wonderfully throughout the years and seems to be flourishing with the help of the residents. When deciding for a family friendly neighborhood within your budget, consider Elsmere.
Everyone here is nice and it's a very pet-friendly neighborhood. It has a peaceful atmosphere.
