I've lived in Vilone Village for 2 years & it has been awful - very disappointing. I would estimate that more than 60% of the homes are rentals with landlords who are content to get their money out of the houses while destroying the neighborhood by not maintaining their properties and renting to - pit bull owners; 4++ cars per household with cars broken down on front lawn for months, and multiple cats & dogs jump their fences & run loose to defecate all over your property. My husband witnessed one of the pit bulls next door kill another one of their dogs in their yard this vicious dog has gone after people walking their dogs past the house. It continues to live there with another pit bull & 3 other dogs. Police don't care about this threat. I can no longer garden, sit out front, or go to my car without fear. I'm saving my money for closing costs to sell & get the hell out of this miserable ghetto.

Elsmere is the perfect neighborhood for middle class civilians. On the first day of each month residents receive a call informing them of all the wonderful things to happen in the following month. Town hall loves to connect with its residents with movie nights of extraordinary films, like Frozen, near the public library. The winter parade has developed wonderfully throughout the years and seems to be flourishing with the help of the residents. When deciding for a family friendly neighborhood within your budget, consider Elsmere.
Elsmere is a small town right outside of Wilmington that is a tight knit community. It's a town that provides easy access to downtown Wilmington and to 1-95. The library in the town is small, but a great place to go for resources. A variety of restaurants in the town provide good selection for a local foodie not wanting to venture too far from home in search of a good meal.
