Nothing redeeming about this part of Brookfield, WI. Get a map and realize this ranking is a lie perpetuated by desperate homeowners seeking value on their investment. Do not live here.
Great community, safe. Able to walk downtown and grab a drink or dinner. Sometimes they have music down there and just a great community to be a part of.
I have lived in Elm Grove for about five years now and absolutely love it! There’s a strong sense of community and most of the younger families moving in have grown up in this area. It has somehow maintained that neighborhood feel I grew up in many years ago and didn’t think was possible to find today.
Elm Grove is a unique place. It has everything you would expect and more. The community is kind, generous, and caring. The neighborhoods are safe and welcoming. The school systems are diverse as well as the members of the community. It is a very safe and kid-friendly town. Also, it is a relaxing place with a park and fun cafes around every corner. Although many people view it as a wealthier community, which is true many people are wealthy in Elm Grove, it also has layers. Like the rings inside of a tree, Elm Grove has many different people in it. I think I enjoy living here not just because of the pace itself, but because of the people.
Elm Grove is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,934 at the 2010 census. Elm Grove was named as America's best suburb by Business Insider in October 2014.
Elm Grove is a quiet village that is insulated from busy streets, fast food joints, strip malls, etc. I miss the sidewalks, streetlights, lake, diversity & liberal mindset of the east side, and we sometimes grumble about the lack of a great restaurant to grab a quick date night dinner... but I can't imagine leaving this little town. It is safe, the elementary school is phenomenal, and the village park is a hub for great events & activities. EG has a strong sense of community, and it's been a great place to raise a family.
Police are very responsive, and the campus is very safe.
The town of La Crosse is too distant from city-life.
Azusa is a very nice place. anything you may need is within an hour drive.
WHILE THERE ARE LONG STANDING BUSINESSES, THERE ARE ALSO NUMEROUS NEW BUSINESSES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE TO CREATE THEIR OWN JOBS.
ELM GROVE HAS A GREAT VARIETY OF MOM AND POP AS WELL AS CHAIN/FRANCHISE BUSINESSES. IT'S A GREAT COMMUNITY WITH NEARLY EVERYTHING ONE COULD POSSIBLY WANT FOR CONVENIENCE AND ENTERTAINMENT.
IT'S WISCONSIN, SO IT'S COLD IN THE WINTER AND HUMID IN THE SUMMER.
ELM GROVE IS ON THE QUIETER SIDE. THERE ARE THINGS TO DO AND LOCAL HANGOUTS, BUT OVERALL IT'S A HANGOUT FOR LOCALS...EASY GOING AND RELAXED. IT'S A GREAT PLACE TO GO AFTER A GAME, SCHOOL EVENT, OR DAY OF WORK. NOT "WILD" BUT A GOOD PLACE TO BE. GEARED FOR THE FAMILIES AND 30+ CROWD.
There is very little crime in the area. This is a result of a more than adequate police force and residents who are always on the lookout for one another. I have always felt safe living in this are and I know many people who often leave doors unlocked and garages open.
The housing in the area is very well maintained/ developed. There are many large houses that each have there own unique style but still blend into the neighborhood. Yards in the area are large and great for famalies.
The weather in the area is very rough during the winter time specifically. The temperature rarely rises above 30 degrees and blizzards and snow storms are a regular occurrence. During the warmer months there is a threat of flooding most years but never anything too devastating. The area almost never experiences drought and there is an occasional tornado.
Overall the restaurant selection in the area is not very good compared to other areas I have visited. Most of the restaurants are chains and there is very little late night entertainment in the area.
