It’s fairly quiet but close enough to most gas stations, convenience stores, and/or spots for food! It’s centrally located near Columbia, Hanover, Catonsville, Ellicott City, and Baltimore City.
Howard County is full of diversity! Lots of chances to meet new places and try foods from around the world. The county invests a lot of money into its schools and public libraries. The Elkridge Library is beautiful and has so much to offer for children, young adults, and a 55+ center!
The Elkridge Fire Station hosts Food Truck Fridays during the summertime, and Cindy’s ice cream is close by.

Elkridge is pretty cool. Many parks around such as rockburn and troy hill. There can be weird people but there is weird people everywhere. One thing that I would like to improve are the schools. Elkridge rightnow is districted to Howard high school or Long Reach high school, two of the most over crowded schools in the county. I go to long reach and this redistricting isnt really helping its just kinda shuffling kids around. However i did hear they are building a new high school but that is going to take forever especially because of corona.
Elkridge is such a close-knit community. A town where people care about each other. There isn't a whole lot of hatred and people support the arts here, just as much as STEM and sports. There are also just as many small stores as there are big-name stores. You'll find so many different kinds of people here because it's a medium-sized town near a city. There are also so many places for families to hang out like parks or small pathways.
