Elkins is a very tight knit community with several different varieties of people. The town itself has vintage buildings and several different restaurants to choose from. The commute could be better, but its not horrible. There are many police officers to provide safety to the town's residents.

The reason we chose Elkins to live is the comfortable and safe environment. Schools are great and people are very friendly.
What could change is more activities for the young people such as a nature center, water park, swimming pool etc.
I love that it is a small town. Most everyone in Elkins is amiable; everyone helps take care of each other. Though there are a few negatives of living in a small town, the positives far outweigh them.
