Elk River is the town I grew up in and started and completed my K-12 education. Although this town is a growing suburb and is a surrounding community of rather large towns, this town feels rather small. Everyone knows everyone because they all grew up together, however, this small town can lead to small town syndrome. I never experienced anything "truly" special about this town other than it gave me the idea of wanting to leave and travel in my adult life. Overall, this town is perfect for small town folks who like to know everyone and their business but if you city person, I would recommend staying towards the inner city.

I like how Elk River isn't a large city but it also isn't small, so it fits in a medium-sized category. I like how most stores, restaurants, and other businesses and companies are close together so it isn't a far drive to get to places. Education, volunteer work, and jobs are also accessible. There are nice city parks and it is a safe and secure city where not much goes wrong.

However, what I don't like about Elk River is the lack of diversity, especially with race and ethnicity. Diversity is very important to me because I believe everybody should be exposed to uniqueness and differences within people. Recognizing the value of people coming from different backgrounds is beneficial to everybody. I also think Elk River should have more places to shop for clothes and eat at restaurants. I also believe the Elk River Marcus Theater should be renovated and improved because there are other nearby theaters that offer more satisfaction to customers.
I love living in Elk River! There is lovely landscaping throughout and enjoyable scenery for walks around town. Elk River gives you a small town feel yet still urban! In the Zillow app I used when searching for a house to purchase, Elk River scored 5/5 stars for safety and schools. There are many parks and fun activities to do with your children, if your a parent. The schools are near by and the people are friendly! There a lot of smiling faces in the surrounding businesses!
