Elizabeth Reviews

Elizabeth is a very community-based town. It is filled with a diverse population of various ethnicities especially in the hispanic and latino cultures, african american, and hatian groups. I was born and raised in elizabeth and naturally, every community has its' degree of prejudice and discrimination, but this is a systemic problem that is reinforced by the municipal authorities. I would like to see this change in my town. The police officers are very arrogant and opinionated when they should be helping diffuse situations, rather than get a rise out of the civilians. The former mayor, Chris Bollwage was a good candidate and made changes that the public wanted. He attended communal events, opened up different recreational facilities for the children, made schools safer with security and metal detectors for the safety of students and faculty, he even support me, a former taekwondo athlete on an olympic career path and current collegiate athlete with a generous scholarship fund.
I have been in Elizabeth for my whole life and it’s been so stressful. My family is poor and hispanic, so they had problems and language barriers. The good thing I like is the scenery in some places like in parks or in a field overlooking at the buildings thinking about my life. Also the Hispanic friendly neighborhood and church is lovely as well. I would like to change that to make more safety beacuse there are just many crimes here and the public school system is bad. The students vaping and doing drugs. I feel bad about the lower grades beacuse my 8 year old brother had to get his backpack checked by the security guard in the entrance. Overall, I would like to change the safety around town and change the atmosphere beacuse there are just a lot of poverty here.
I just recently moved there and noticed it's a Hispanic dominant town. There is all different types of Hispanic people. There Dominicans, Cubans, Puerto Rico, Colombian. Elizabeth is very populated. There are many people living there. They also have multiply schools for each district. They have over 28 schools. The people there are very friendly and respectful
