In my city it is a small city where you are bound to see a person at Walmart and again at Target. Even though there are many people here, the city is still small enough to recognize your fellow neighbors anywhere! There is a library, parks and entertainment to keep the little ones busy and entertained. There is also a YMCA which offers a variety of of classes and activities for both parents and children, lots of schools and restaurants around as well.

El Mirage is a small city, it is still growing and the older areas of the city are being updated with a recent surge of cash into making the city look nicer. Recent renovations include a large new park, a YMCA, a new police department and making roads wider. The downside to all of the new construction includes traffic and of course the messy look with all of the construction materials and equipment on the side of the road. Construction on the roads has taken over two years which seems unreasonable for such a small stretch of road. The high school in the city has seen its fields and campus improve as well, the people of the city seem kind and usually stay out of trouble. Living in an area with a large air force base nearby can be a little loud with the occasional F-35 or F-16 flying overhead. However, having military personnel living in the communities within El Mirage is good.
El Mirage has built a new park, YMCA and Walmart since moving here in 2005. They have made many renovations with Thunderbird road as well. One of the most wonderful activities in our little town that I love is the annual Christmas tree lighting at Gentry Park.
