Great architecture, lousy, scummy landlords. A lot of property isn't cared for, especially in poor communities, and result in demolition. Nicer areas are gentrified and over priced. It's difficult finding a nice apartment in a central location that is affordable.
Its a great neighborhood, quiet and safe. Great for raising a family and close to doctor's offices and hospitals. Real estate is expensive, definitely a place own a home rather than rent. Personally I would like better public transportation in the area, but otherwise it's a nice place to be.
I lived in this area when I was completing my undergraduate degree. It was a nice area to live in while a student, but I do not think I would want to live their with my family in the future. The area is quiet, but the area is older and needs to cosmetic upgrades!
