The schools are overrated, teachers do NOT teach at all, and the high ratings are due to students who try to hard. It is a safe town, just some areas are no-goes at night. Nightlife is average, you can find bars and parties. It is good for families to live here as it is affordable and rent is cheap with many projects for lower incomes and apartments for middle class. Buying is also cheap, many low income people buy here with no problem. Air quality can be bad at times but overall there are good doctors around Central NJ and JFK hospital is there. Commute to New York is excellent on NJ Transit. There are few IT jobs here, and many jobs for blue collar workers. This city is very segregated. Some housing complexes such as Potters and projects near the Raritan river are only Black. Then some housing areas like Village Gate, Hilltop, Menlo Park, and Maples are only Indian. And then some south side neighborhoods are only white.

I have been living in Edison Township for 8 years. I live in one of the townhouses which are very affordable and clean. The township is sometimes crowded and it has traffic near some of the public schools such as J. P. Stevens, John Adams, and James Madison Intermediate School. Although there is heavy traffic they are great public schools and there are more in different areas of Edison. There are many parks around and things for kids to do. There are also things for adults to do such as work. It is a comfortable and friendly township. The only thing that should change is little kids walking around with no visible adult because they can be seriously injured.
Edison is a wonderful city to live in. The school system is one of the best in the state of New Jersey, and the success rates for graduation to college is very high. It is a very safe area and is great for families to reside and children to grow up in. There are many activities that Edison offers every year for it's residents such as holiday festivities and street fairs. There are many establishments that offer leisure activities for enjoyment. There are also many options for employment in the area. Edison is very diverse, and it will teach children the importance of differences in culture but will find many similarities. Home of the Eagles.
