I moved to Edina Public Schooling in 7th grade. I didn't realize until I graduated and attended a 4-year University of how well the school district prepared me for the transition. It is a beautiful suburb with plenty activities to do. Located their is Simon Mall- Southdale, multiple parks, and a ton of food chains! You will never go hungry or not have anything to view in Edina. Honestly, one of my favorite down times was strolling through the high-end neighborhoods and just looking at the houses. The only downfall would the exclusivity that comes from Edina. It has a reputation of relying on daddy's money. But I like to look at this as a positive. It shows you, with hard work you can achieve a lavish lifestyle and flourish because of your determination.

Conservatives are literally suing the public school system for being a "center for liberal indoctrination". While I found that many teachers I had were liberal, it was nothing close to that. In fact, my teachers are some of the best in the Twin Cities. If anything, it was the political climate and elitism that turned me off of Edina. Extracurriculars were more about who you knew than whether or not you were actually qualified, and the climate is still hostile towards people of color. Overall, Edina needs some serious reform before it can be a truly welcoming city.
I really enjoy living in Edina, because I feel like I'm located in the center of Minneapolis but still avoiding the downtown and uptown madness. I'm conveniently close to everything from grocery stores, shopping centers, hospitals, schools, ect. There's not too much traffic except for the usual hours of rush hour too. The best part of living in Edina is I feel safe and I think the city is very clean. That's one of the most important things to me and I got it.
