Ebensburg is a small town that has a lot to offer. It is a community that keeps on expanding. It provides a safe environment to raise a family in. There are a variety of schools to choose from in the area including a public and Catholic schooling option. It is also a running town. The Ebensburg Running Club has multiple members from the area and each 5K is a town event. There is also a lot of music involvement as well. Concerts at the park or in local bars ranging from various ages and experience. Our town saying is, "We know how to party in the rain" because every event the town hosts, it will most likely storm, but that does not stop the people from having a good time.
Ebensburg is a relatively safe place to live and raise children. There are a variety of public and private schools. A public swimming pool. There is a nice variety of restaurants and eateries from Italian american cuisine to Chinese. There is a bike and jogging trail that is highly accessible to the community. Ebensburg offers an array of medical facilities ranging from urgent care and family medical to a few different long term care facilities. One thing i change or add to Ebensburg would be adolescent activities. There are many things to keep young children occupied however not much that appeals to teenagers or older children. A recreation center would be great with different indoor sports and games. A safe haven where youth could meet and occupy there free time while getting exercise and/or just having fun with friends. Also i would add diversity to the area. This town is predominately white Caucasian and catholic. Not many other races creeds or colors exist here.
I enjoy that Ebensburg is a small, safe, tight-knit community. The schools seem to be about par, but I have not gone through the school system myself. The Ghost Town Trail is a great access point to a well kept trail, good for biking or a long jog. I do not enjoy the location of Ebensburg, it is on top of a series of mountains but there are no views in the area, just one view of a giant smoking factory on top of a hill. Economic opportunity is below par but there is much effort so the outlook is positive.
