Don't feel too safe at night, cars get stolen quite often, at least once a week if not more you hear gunfire at night. People drive sometimes 50+ mph through the neighborhood streets, blow through stop signs constantly.
I enjoy the neighborhood that I live in. It is quiet and everyone is very nice. Although, I would like to see more upkeep of the environment. It would be nice to see more events held here as well.
I lived in Eastpointe for 15 years and I have seen many things while living there. Even though it's a small city it has many things in it that puts it on par with other big cities: big name restaurants, salons, homes with pools, etc. I have grown up and seen people come and go as the city started to go downhill. Many of the roads started to crack which in turn caused bad road conditions and more accidents. Also many well known businesses started closing but in turn people started to open up there own business and I have seen them become very successful. So if you want to know Eastpointe is a good starting place to open up your business and expand from. Last but not least I have never been to there high school but I heard many bad things about it to the point that they had to change there name from East Detroit to Eastpointe High School, but you will have to see for yourself if it's the right place to take your child too.
