Great community, with extremely friendly neighborhoods! Amazing amount of diversity. Close access to schools and other utilities; overall a very family- friendly place.

I have lived here for almost 18 years and I do enjoy it. The people are mostly friendly, and I always feel safe. However, there are things that I do not like about living in the East Renton Highlands. For instance, our roads. There are so many potholes almost everywhere you drive. It is so bad that one of my friends hit one and lost control of her car and hit a telephone pole. This is a serious issue for the safety of our people. Not only the potholes, but the roads need to be bigger. The highway Washington 900 lasts only about 6 miles, with a speed limit of 40 mph. Going on that, it should take you about 10-15 minutes. During rush hour it has taken up to over an hour. This is not the only road that has this problem. Coal Creek is another great example of this. On to the good about this town, the schools are great. When students are struggling, teachers are willing to stay after school to get them the help they need.
What I like about the Highlands is that it is a nice and quiet neighborhood and the apartments and houses are near each other. Although the location is a little bit hard to get to the grocery stories and local business. The form of transportation is poor. The buses are a very far walking distance to get to and there are not many in the highlands where I live. The diversity of the neighborhood is not very high and is mainly occupied by white people. The cost of the homes are extremely high and outrageous. The rent price is also high and can be higher depending on the home owner. The safety of the neighborhood is okay, but if something were to happen, it would be difficult to get help and seek for assistance.
