I have been living in East Point for 5 Years and the area is very nice. I previously lived in Stockbridge, GA. The schools are not the best for the area but they offer quite a few charter schools. My daughters enjoy the area. I have great neighbors and they look out for each others home while we are away working or away on vacation. East Point is a currently having a lot of homes being rehabbed which is also good makes the area look great. The Property value is increased quite a bit so hopefully that will allow the school systems to improve as well. I would recommend the area to most people that enjoy the city life. I hope to purchase my second home in the area once I am back working. I was laid off in February and it has been very difficult to find a job in the area well a job anywhere to be honest.

I am originally from East Point, Georgia and have recently moved back to the area after about 13 years. I still love it, but of course everything under the sun has it's pros and cons. East Point has so much potential that has yet to be tapped into. With being gone for almost 15 years and coming back to things being exactly the same, the first day after moving into my new home I had a feeling of utter shock, confusion also a feeling of being at home. East Point has a warmth to it and that is why natives have five, if not more, generations that stay there. That speaks a lot of volume.
East Point is an affordable area to live of Atlanta Georgia, its in a great location being only a 20 to 30 minute drive from Atlanta's city center and is easily accessible to highways and shopping centers such as Camp Creek and Headland Delowe shopping center. This area could be a good place for struggling students like myself but unfortunately large parts of the area are run down, a potentially beautiful nature reserve appears over grown and abandoned. There are few nice places in the locality such as bars and cafes to enjoy. There is no night life and parts of the neighbourhood are rife with crime relating largely to poverty.
