I bought a house in 2020 in East Point and have been blown away by the welcoming and diverse community here. Our neighbors are considerate and friendly. We enjoy the abundance of parks, walking routes, and beautifully landscaped yards. We are on the MARTA line and just 15 minutes south of downtown. Considering this, the price is unbeatable and we’ve already gained considerable equity on our house in less than 2 years. There’s great local spots to eat and drink at - and more are on the horizon. Like any area of Atlanta, parts of East Point are not as safe but we’ve never run into any issues. We’ve noticed lots of movement and growth in the area, but are happy to see that diversity is being maintained. Would recommend living here!
After living in Atlanta, we moved to East Point because we were looking for a more affordable place to stay with some historic architecture, close to the city and Marta, and have a decent yard. Fortunately that happened. We get along with our neighbors and everyone is mostly kind. Most people keep up their yard, and there are many yards that give botanical garden vibes. It’s important to remember that you’re still in the Atlanta area and living in the city so things happen. The same things happen all over Atlanta. We do have some great local businesses and some nightlife for everyone. We have seen a lot of positive change since we have moved in in 2020, and we’re optimistic to continue to see more. I believe if you do your research and find the right neighborhood you would like to be a part of, you will find some satisfaction.
I bought a home three years ago , near connally. I really like eastpoint. The officials and city workers are really on top of things such as , illegal dumping, code enforcement and crime. The property value has increased in three years, which is good for tax revenue. I only wish they would crack down on these people lighting "firecrackers" late night and early morning. I have noticed this happening during inappropriate times.
