I like East Hartford, Connecticut because it is a diverse town. It is also connected with many different retail, grocery and other commercial outlets. It is a simple three minute drive from where I live to either Stop and Shop and the Burlington store and a three minute drive to Shoprite of Manchester and all of the fast food chains surrounding the area from McDonald's, Popeyes, Subway, etc. There is also Wickham Park which provides a panorama of the neighboring capital of Hartford, Connecticut and the beautiful trees in the distance which become particularly accentuated during the fall season with the very vibrant warm colors of yellow, orange and red. The community is also very diverse and there are a lot of cultural events that happen all the time in East Hartford, from fairs, etc. As far as what can change about East Hartford, there can be better relations with the police department and more transparency regarding community policing. Also, citizens should engage the leaders.
East-Hartford is a beautiful town I enjoy the mixture of scenery. Some parts are suburbs, other parts city like, and along the outskirts into other towns, you get a rural feel. What I like the most about east-Hartford is how it's connected to so many different towns which makes traveling easy. This town is beautiful and full of history I grew up in this town most of my life and it never feels old.
East Hartford is an average town. There are some areas that can be sketchy, but overall people mind their own business and there also some nice quiet neighborhoods. Taxes are high and increasing, infrastructure not so good, very boring and nonexistent nightlife. You would need to travel to downtown Hartford for nightlife which is nothing special in itself. Town is definitely extremely diverse with all different types of ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. School system is underfunded, has a lot of great teachers however, also some poor ones. I love East Hartford because I’ve lived here all my life, but I wouldn’t recommend living here overall.
