East Grand Rapids Reviews
Review East Grand Rapids
There is almost no crime in East Grand Rapids. Sometimes the police wait at certain intersections to give speeding tickets. The police/public safety station is in Gaslight Village, very visible and accessible.
Overall, people are a bit unfriendly if you aren't in certain circles, but it's also easy to make friends with common interests whether it be yoga, dog walking, or painting. Good biking, though drivers are sometimes rude.
Living in East Grand Rapids my whole life, I can confidently say that we are a city of health. We pride our high school not only on academic merit, but on athletic success as well. From children to teens, community members seem to take part in the countless amount of sports offered by the schools and the district. At all times of the year people can be seen being out and active. This is especially true during the warmer months when the sidewalks seem to be filled with walkers, runners, bikers, and the like. The community offers two turf fields, a fitness center in the high school, a yoga studio, and countless other fitness facilities in the close-by neighboring areas. As well as an abundance of grocery stores, the city of Grand Rapids holds many local food markets where farmers and local vendors can sell their top quality foods. Many restaurants have their menus made up entirely of local and whole foods. All types of hospitals and care facilities, including a Children's Hospital, are very close by at any point in the city and neighboring areas. Overall, East Grand Rapids and the City of Grand Rapids is a great place to live and a quality, healthy place to be.
